President Hinckley, prophet and leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints passed away today. I’m extremely sad about this. President Hinckley was the prophet of my generation. I grew up listening to him. He was the President who went down to Ecuador where I served my mission and dedicated that temple. I love the Guayaquil temple. That’s where the people I served and love can go to the House of the Lord. I will miss him.

Update: Just to clarify, it was 12 years of elementary, middle, and high school, not 12 years of high school. Thanks to those that pointed it out!
Welcome to my blog. In case you are wondering why I call this blog The Eternal Student, it’s because that is what I am. After 12 years of school through High School, 4 grueling years of college (with a 2 year break for a mission in Guayaquil Ecuador), and a year and a half working for my Masters degree, I have decided to go back to school. I just finished applying to three graduate schools for a PhD in Instructional Technology. Catherine and I are very excited but also a little nervous. We could be going “around the block” to Utah, or all the way to Stillwater, Oklahoma. Another scary aspect is that we both love our home here in Jerome where I teach at the High School. What’s that you say? Oh yes, the eternal student is currently a Spanish and Biology teacher. It fits, right? The best part is that the only two classes I can remember ever getting a “C” in High School for are the ones I teach now. Ironic? It’s more like the universe saying, “Ha, ha, ha. Try that on!” The funny thing is that I love my job, and coaching football and wrestling, but I am still very excited for the chance to further my education, especially while my boys (Kevin and Cameron) are still young. Well, I’ve gotta go to bed. Gotta go to school and teach tomorrow!
