Back to the Blog
Ok, so it’s been just over a month since I last blogged. I’ve been super busy and just haven’t had time. But since people are beginning to wonder whether I’m ever actually going to write about my trip to Spain, I thought I’d better take the time, so here it goes.
Spain was awesome! We spent 10 days traveling around the country and visited all sorts of stuff. I’m not sure I can really say what my favorite part was because it was all so good. We started in Madrid where we visited the Prado museum and the Royal Palace. One of the best parts about the Prado was getting to see the actual works of art I studied about in high school and college. Much more cool in person I must say.
Standing in the courtyard of the Royal Palace.
We also ate churros con chocolate. Just imagine, churros dipped in hot chocolate thick enough to stick to the sides of the mugs wehad them in. Mmmm…. We also saw a monument to Cervantes, author of Don Quixote (which are the two characters I’m standing by in the picture below. I love Don Quixote. I also included a picture of some windmills we drove by as we went through the Mancha. Just picture Don Quixote attacking them!
One of the coolest things we did was go to Africa. To get there we took a ferry across the straight of Gibraltar. You could see Africa while still standing on in Europe. I also got to ride a Dromedary (one-humped camel).
Overall, I had a great time. I wish I could go back and visit again!
Colors
I refuse to change my colors. Unlike Catherine who changes her blog’s design just because I have decided where to go to grad school, I refuse to do it. What does that mean? Catherine changed her blog’s colors to Orange and Black, because we have decided to go to OSU! I however, am made of more solid stuff, and am going to keep my blog exactly as it is…Orange and Black… without changing anything! So there!
Seriously, we haven’t yet told Oklahoma State that we for sure are going there, but we’ve pretty much decided. We’re waiting for a letter from them explaining some “details”, and then we’ll probably tell them yes for certain (however John will probably read this first thing tomorrow morning on my blog so he’ll know right away). To set the record straight, Catherine and I thought and talked about OSU, but really wanted to go to Utah State for one glaring reason; Family. However, with the educational and financial differences between the two, Oklahoma State is just too good to pass up. So, I guess it’s official (almost): I’m going to OSU! Go Pistol Pete!
